EVENT FAQ:
OZ on the Road Q&A
Why did we change the Rally Format?
- The OZ Rally has had a long and successful history, lots of fun had by all and many friendships made.
- Over the last several years, rally attendance has declined, so the KCBMWMC has decided to try something new
- The new format puts more focus on riding, which is consistent with the club’s recent mission of providing more riding opportunities
Why did the Rally dates change from June to May?
- The date was changed to facilitate attendance at our rally and still provide enough travel time for those who are also attending the MOA National Rally
Why are we spending the 1st night at the Crane Rally?
- When we changed the date of our rally to the last weekend in May, we realized that the Springfield MO Roadriders Rally was the same weekend
- Not wanting to interfere with their rally, we reached out to them and offered to make the Crane Rally our 1st stop – the enthusiastically agreed
What are the logistics for the two rally sites?
Crane Rally – Springfield BMW Roadriders:
- Friday night camping and meal at the rally grounds Also you can arrive Thursday at the Crane campground after 2pm for two nights of camping
Finger Lakes
- Saturday night camping at the Finger lakes campgrounds
Both campgrounds have a reserved area for all riders – follow the signs
Do I have to Camp/will food be provided?
- No, camping is not mandatory, we have made sure that the two rally stops have nearby hotel options
- Food will be provided on Friday night at the Crane Rally; all other meals are not included in the rally price
- Fingers Lakes is about 25 minutes from Columbia MO where there are many dinner dining options . We may have a spot reserved at a restaurant for Saturday nigh
Will there be a planned route for Friday and Saturday?
- Yes the group from Harrisonville will have a planned pavement route with a lunch stop along the way. Meeting point will be the Sapp Brothers in Harrisonville at 9:00am
- There will be a planned pavement route and optional “gravel” added route for Saturday Crane to Finger Lakes with a lunch stop
Can I ride by myself or with some friends and just meetup at Crane and Finger lakes?
- YES
If I pay online in advance can I receive a refund if weather is bad or circumstances dictate I can’t make it to the rally?
- Rally is rain or shine, no refunds
Is alcohol allowed at both campgrounds?
- It is best to consume alcohol only within the privacy of a rented campsite, if allowed by specific, current park regulations, while avoiding all public, high-use roads, waterfront areas and parking areas.
